Table & Well Podcast

HOSTS: Tennison & Ginelle Barry

“The reason a lot of that stuff, (trauma), happened in our family is because we didn’t know how to build joy, how to quiet together, or keep our relational circuits on…. (To start healing this relationship)… So how about I go back and do what I can to build joy with my adult children without them taking on my regret… ” ~ Amy Glaser

Elders are so important in building relationally healthy communities. Without them, we are missing a key part, and it’s nearly impossible. What is the role of elders in community? What does healthy community look like? How do we glean their wisdom? In this new series, Wisdom Keepers: The Role of Elders in Building Relationally Healthy Community not only will these questions and many more be answered, the answers will come directly from Elders.

Join Tennison & Ginelle to continue their conversation with Amy Glaser. Amy is the Director of Development with Alive & Well. She is also the Director of the Alive & Well Leadership Community and the creator of Journey Groups. Amy is also the co-author of Relational Skills in the Bible with Chris Coursey.

In this episode, listen in as they talk about what it looks like to practice becoming elder, the process of healing relationships with adult children and why it seems so much easier to connect with other young adults that are not your children. Learn what you can do to create, build, and maintain safety and connection as you are repairing these relationships.
