SIGNIFICANT Women
HOST: Carol McLeod
CAROL MCLEOD MINISTRIES
Welcome back to the Significant Women Podcast with Carol McLeod! Today, Carol is joined by Emily T. Wierenga, author of the memoirs God Who Became Bread, Atlas Girl, Making It Home, as well as the self-help resource Chasing Silhouettes: How to Help a Loved One Battling an Eating Disorder. In 2014, she was used by God to establish The Lulu Tree Foundation, a nonprofit that operates in villages around the world, equipping families to become sustainable through the local church. She is passionate about advocating for the poor and loves traveling to Africa and doing church at a local mental health drop-in center.
A former anorexic who nearly starved to death, Emily longed for more—the more she’d glimpsed during her childhood in the Congo, surrounded by vibrant faith. When all she had was dry religion, she craved a Communion that was more than an empty ritual. Listen in to hear her story.

The Significant Women podcast is full of personal stories, dynamic hope, and sage wisdom from women who have gleaned all that they can from the ordinary days of an uncommon life. They aren’t significant because of their fame or success…they are significant because Jesus is in the details of their lives.
