BUILDING STRONG HOMES podcast
HOST: CAROL ROPER
Today’s guest is Celeste Vaughan. Celeste is a pharmacist who has an amazing story about how she ended up addicted to painkillers after suffering numerous seizures. She shares how she struggled with work and raising three children–including a baby–all while trying to keep her addiction hidden and under control. From the outside, it looked like she had a charmed life, but inside she was just trying to get through the day. She actually got to the point where she didn’t even care whether or not she was healed; she just wanted to know why she was having to walk this horrific journey. She prayed for the rapture, healing, and every selfish prayer she could think of, just trying to fix herself. After seven years of addiction, God finally brought her to freedom. One of the messages Celeste wants to get out is that you are not alone. Talk to somebody. There is so much help out there now for addictions. Find an internist who treats opioid addiction with Suboxone. It is very treatable. This life can be wonderful again after addiction and depression. Don’t give up! There’s always hope!
