that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
Bookstores are filled with thousands of books by men and women teaching about some knowledge that they have. How-to books fill the shelves with people who believe they have the wisdom on how to accomplish something in life or how to really live the best life. People purchase these books in search of how to live a better life and how to get everything out of life that they can.
Paul told the Corinthian church that he did not come to them speaking eloquently, but simply so that their faith would not be in the wisdom of people, but in the power of God.
There are people who appear to be very wise. It seems that they always have the right answer for problems in life and can speak it very clearly in layman’s terms so that others can understand it. People will purchase their books, go to their seminars, and pay thousands of dollars to sit under their teaching to learn their wisdom and put their faith in that wisdom.
Although the wisdom of some people may appear great, often that wisdom is failing in the long run. Any wisdom of a person is finite and will fall short of eternal life.
Instead of putting faith in a person’s words, people are to put their faith in the power of God and His infinite and perfect wisdom. God, in His power, using His wisdom, is able to remove all sin, change a person’s life and make the person alive for all eternity.
No wisdom of mankind can do that. Human wisdom will only bring about death rather than life.
The world strives to get you to look at their wisdom, trying to make you think that they know what is best for you. Do not put your faith in what people are trying to say is the full truth.
Focus your life upon God and His wisdom and His power. Put your faith in Him. It is only God who can truly remove your sins and give you a life filled with meaning and purpose. Allow God, in His power and wisdom, to remove your sin and change you into a new creation that is full of life. Trust God to do what is necessary to make that happen.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will open your eyes to the faultiness of man’s wisdom; that you will put your faith in God’s power and wisdom; and that God will make you into the person He has called you to be.
