War Is Coming

Believers should not be surprised when there is war or disaster, it is something that has already been prophesied.

The prophets who have been before me and before you of old prophesied against many countries and great kingdoms–of war and disaster and pestilence. Jeremiah 28:8

The world claims to be seeking peace among all the nations. Individual people do desire to have peace and not war or troubles of any sort. Since they desire such peace and comfort, people will also look to and listen to those who will talk about peace and comfort. Anyone who speaks anything different than peace and comfort is often ignored or ridiculed as being wrong and harmful.

Jeremiah was speaking before a group of prophets and other people in Jerusalem and reminded them that the prophets before them had prophesied of war, disaster, and pestilence against many nations. He was saying this because the prophets were trying to say that war was not coming as Jeremiah was prophesying it would.

On a continual basis there are talks of peace treaties being attempted to be made between various nations. Just as often as peace treaties are made, there are peace treaties being broken and war is occurring. As long as there is sin in the world, there will be wars, disasters, and pestilence that will occur.

In this world, there is a spiritual battle between God and Satan. This spiritual battle manifests itself in the disasters found upon this earth. Violence, hatred, and disaster appear to reign all over the world.

Satan is doing his best to stop and destroy all believers by any means possible. Sometimes this destruction will be found in physical wars, while other times it is in social, mental, and physical health being destroyed, causing many to walk away from God.

Believers should not be surprised when there is war or disaster, it is something that has already been prophesied. Instead of fearing or denying it, one must put trust in God that God and the believer will win in the end.

You will be able to see all types of disasters all around you, maybe even in your own personal life. As a believer, the world is against you and will do what it can to stop you from following God. Put your focus on God and trust the supreme commander of the universe as you face these wars and disasters in your life and around you. Until Jesus returns, you are in a war for your life and the lives of others.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know and trust the prophecies of God; that you will put all of your trust in God; and that you will seek God’s inner peace in the middle of wars and disasters in your life and in this world.
