Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.” Genesis 22:1
Having to take a test is something that people know they must have to do at various times in their lives. Even though they know it, many people fear having to take the test wondering if they have studied enough or remember everything that they need to know. Everyone wants to be able to pass the test. In every test, some pass, and some will fail.
Sometime after Isaac was born God decided to come to Abraham to test him. He calls for Abraham and Abraham answers that he is there and ready.
Although many people hate tests and try to avoid them, tests can help a person know what the person knows or does not know. Other types of tests can help know what the person can do or not do. All tests are verifying something about a person.
Passing the test comes down to how well the person has learned the subject being tested on.
Just as the world will test people in different subjects and ways, God desires to test His followers. He wants to see if the believer will know and do what is right.
The world tests believers to get them to fall and fail. God tests the believer to build the believer up. His tests will be ones to cause the believer to step out in faith trusting His word to obey Him and be His witness.
Just as a test in this world, sometimes that test from God will sound crazy and unneeded. It will be a challenge for the believer to pass. However, the rewards for passing God’s tests last for eternity and are worth it.
Throughout your life, you have had to take many different tests both mentally and physically. Some were easy and some were hard. Some you passed and some you failed. As you walk with God there will come times when God desires to put you to the test. He wants to know if you have learned anything in your walk with Him. It is a time to move you up to the next level on the journey He has you on through this life heading into eternity.
Are you willing to trust Him and pass the test?
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will learn what God is teaching you; that you will be ready to take the test God has for you; and that you will pass all tests God puts you through.
