Recently, the Words of John the Baptist seemed to echo in my Spirit:
“PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD, make His beaten tracks straight (level and passable)!” Mark 1:3
It was almost as if God was saying that the Body of Christ is being challenged right now, not to do the work of the ministry as much as getting everything in their personal lives in alignment to receive something from Him.
While the work of the ministry is important, it cannot take the place of our time of daily intimacy with God Himself. I believe there is a preparatory work being done within the people of God individually, which is meant to usher in, not just Holiness and Righteousness, but a Highway for Heaven to invade the Earth itself.
“And a highway shall be there, and a way; and it shall be called the Holy Way. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for the redeemed; the wayfaring men, yes, the simple ones and fools, shall not err in it and lose their way. No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast come up on it; they shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk on it. And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing, and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” Isaiah 35:8-10
As a Highway is a two-way street going both directions, it allows for the saints and the Angelic to travel it. The demonic and the unclean will not be able to use it, but the Redeemed shall walk on it.
Jesus has revealed to us the Way on a personal level just as He did to Thomas:
“And [to the place] where I am going, YOU KNOW THE WAY. Thomas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way? Jesus said to him, I AM THE WAY AND THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me. John 14:4-6
The Revelation of the Way (Jesus Christ) gives way to the building and creation of the Highway God is creating each of us to become in the earth. Much like the Ladder which Jacob saw, which we found out later was a representation of Jesus Himself (Genesis 28:12, John 1:51).
Just like Jesus, we are to become a Highway for Heaven to come and visit the Earth through us, and to even have a Habitation of the Heavenly realms residing and presiding in our lives at the same time.
I believe that there’s enormous preparations being implemented by the Holy Spirit upon the inside of every believer’s life. He is Preparing the Way of the Lord inside of us so that that which is inside can begin to invade the earth on the outside of us as well.
The Way, which you know, (Jesus Christ) is being constructed and formed on the inside of your life. You may be a work in progress, but you are His work nonetheless, and the Holy Spirit will not stop, slow down, or deviate from that Process until we are finished.
Don’t allow discouragement to creep in upon you because of that which is yet incomplete, for He promised never to leave you or forsake you, and He always finishes what He starts!
“And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that HE WHO BEGAN A GOOD WORK IN YOU WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE DAY OF JESUS CHRIST [right up to the time of His return], developing and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.” Philippians 1:6
