Recently, just before daylight, I heard someone knocking loudly at my front door. Yet when I got up to go out there, I could not find a trace of anything. I went outside, looked all around the yard, and there wasn’t a soul to be seen anywhere.
I live out in the country, so it’s not like being in a neighborhood or a place where there are others close by. I really only have 3 neighbors here, and they are hundreds of yards away. So as I was puzzled by this, I very clearly heard the Lord! He said, “I AM STANDING AT THE DOOR AND KNOCKING!”
When I asked Him why, He said, “IT’S TO WAKE THEM UP BECAUSE THE DAWN IS BREAKING IN THE SPIRIT REALM!”
“But the path of the [uncompromisingly] just and righteous IS LIKE THE LIGHT OF DAWN, that shines more and more (brighter and clearer) until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day [to be prepared].” Proverbs 4:18
“Awake, harp and lyre; I myself will wake very early—I WILL WAKEN THE DAWN!” Psalms 108:2
“Behold, I STAND AT THE DOOR and knock; if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will eat with him, and he [will eat] with Me.” Revelation 3:20
I believe that there’s a personal visitation going on right now for many of us! He is paying each of us an unexpected visit, and it’s usually at your darkest moment, which is usually right as the Dawn is breaking.
Many of us have given up because of the difficulties and the weight of the things going on in our midst, and many of us have just resolved within our own minds and hearts that it may never change. But some of you are going to experience an unexpected visitor, and He is going to show up in your darkest hour, knocking upon the Door of your heart!
“[The Servant of God says] The Lord God has given Me the tongue of a disciple and of one who is taught, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. HE WAKENS ME MORNING BY MORNING, HE WAKENS MY EAR TO HEAR AS A DISCIPLE [as one who is taught].” Isaiah 50:4
“And we have the prophetic word [made] firmer still. You will do well to pay close attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dismal (squalid and dark) place, until the day breaks through [the gloom] and THE MORNING STAR RISES IN YOUR HEARTS.” 2 Peter 1:19
He’s not knocking at the door to just wake you up. He’s knocking at your door so that you can have real fellowship with Him, so I guess the real question is, are you going to wake up and Answer the Door?
