Walking His Way

David is seeking deliverance from his enemies, as we do too in our daily walk with God.

Teach me Your way, O LORD,
And lead me in a level path
Because of my foes.

Psalm 27:11 (NASB)

In today’s scripture from Psalm 27, we are still in the prayers of David (verses 7-12). Indeed, the whole psalm can be seen as a progressive prayer, proclaiming and seeking God. David is seeking deliverance from his enemies, as we do too in our daily walk with God.

There is a pattern within Psalm 27; David proclaims God as his salvation (verse 1), seeks His presence (verse 4), asks God to hear his prayers (verse 7), and in verse 11 he seeks God’s guidance in the face of his foes. David’s utter dependence is founded on the “God of my salvation” (Psalm 25:5) – He is the foundation stone of David’s life. In the two scriptures shared today, we see there is a difference between seeing a path and being taught/knowing why it is the right path for you; it is only Father God that makes this clear to us.

Make me know Your ways, O LORD;
Teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
on You I wait all the day.
Psalm 25:4-5

Dear Reader, good directions are important on a journey – sometimes in life, we are given faulty directions. But our faith journey requires faultless directions; only our Father God can provide them. May we seek Him daily in His Word and in prayer each day, that we may walk in His Way.
