Prince of Peace

His death and resurrection was the kiss that covered sin.

Posted on

We’re mesmerized by deceit in disguise

We’re entranced and enslaved by darkness and lies

We’re captivated by temptation and poisoned by greed

We fall for the cunning techniques of the thief

The enemy manipulates in a spell-like trance

Wickedness is vicious; enticement is enhanced

Evil gloats in selfishness; it’s fulfilled in our pride

It corrupts and destroys so many lives

Jesus came to redeem us from the fall of such spells

The Prince of Peace saved us from the grip of hell

His sacrifice alone undoes the damage done

That’s why the Father sent His only Son

The holy chemistry in the blood of Jesus Christ

reversed the curse and brought the world new life

Jesus knew the only way to save us was through Him

His death and resurrection was the kiss that covered sin

Jesus wants us to be a part in His never-ending story

and to live with Him forever in the fullness of His glory

The Son of the Most High overcame death to give us life

His love unveils the darkness with His holy light

Jesus is the Prince who paid the people’s debt

He bought our sins through the price of His death

Jesus rules! He represents us! He is our defense!

If Jesus is for us, who could ever be against?

Unfailing love and truth have met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed! Truth springs up from the earth, and righteousness smiles down from heaven. Psalm 85:10-11

About the Author

Debbie always had a desire to write a book, but didn’t have a clue as to what the content could be. Children’s books and short stories piqued her interest most. She had dabbled with writing family-oriented poems, off and on over the years, but became overwhelmed with a hunger to write about God and His love in her late fifties. She started seeing God everywhere she looked whether it was in a deck of cards, movie titles, nursery rhymes, popular sayings, flower petals, or a baseball game. She finally realized that prophecy was being fulfilled when one of her sons told her that her poetry glorified God and was meant to be shared. The Lord’s words from an encounter in 2011 immediately returned to her. She had found her own way to speak about God just like He told her she would. Debbie is sharing her poetry in hopes that it will nourish and strengthen souls for the Kingdom of God. She refers to her poetic style as floetry, as it is the move of the Holy Spirit flowing from her heart to another. Her desire to flood the prisons with her book is due to God’s belief in her, and in her belief that no one can cast the first stone, but that everyone can help someone who is in desperate need of a Savior.
