Keep Fighting the Battle

Once a believer overcomes an enemy, he must remember what was done and hold on to that testimony.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Do not fear him, for I have delivered him into your hand, with all his people and his land; and you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon.” Numbers 21:34

Every nation has had battles that were fought, winning some and losing some. As battles are won, the military looks at what went right and wrong and remembers it and learns from the experience.

Learning from what had occurred allows the military to improve or repeat a battle for another victory.

Og, king of Bashan, came out in war against the Israelites. God told Moses not to be afraid but to do to him as was done to the Amorite king, for He has delivered him into his hands.

Although most people will never have to fight a physical war against any other nation or group of people, most will have battles in their lives on a regular basis. Most of these battles will be spiritual battles against the enemy that fights for the destruction of the soul and heart.

Every believer must fight a battle against temptation. The world will seek to tempt the believer into sinning against or doubting God. As a believer looks to God for victory over temptation and finds a way out from it, he gains new experience in overcoming temptation and destroys the work of the enemy.

Once a believer overcomes an enemy, he must remember what was done and hold on to that testimony. He can be encouraged that God will give victory again. In the same way, he can defeat the next enemy of his soul.

God will give the believer strength, wisdom, and direction on how to defeat and destroy the enemy tempting him.

You will have to face the enemy in battle as a believer. The world is out to destroy you as much as God is out to give you an abundant life.

The moment you chose to believe in Jesus and follow Him, you began to defeat the enemy in the power of Christ. Until you step into heaven, the war for your soul is not over. New enemies will attempt to attack and destroy you.

God will give you victory each time over the enemy as you fight the battle in His strength and power. Never forget how God gave victory in the past and repeat the battle for another victory.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will see how God has given you victory in the past; that you will see the path God has given you to gain victory over the enemy of your soul; and that you will defeat the enemy in the power, direction and strength of God.
