His Deep Heart Scan

Father God was scanning bodies long before the CT scanner, and in greater detail – finding the true nature of man’s heart.

“I, the LORD, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give to every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings.”
Jeremiah 17:10 (NKJV)

This morning’s verse comes at a time of punishment of Israel for disobeying God and falling into sin. This verse comes as part of God’s promise to redeem His people; preceding the illustration of the remolded vessel in the hands of a potter. The potter’s keen eye can see the flaws in each piece and remold it until it is perfect by his eye – our Father God can see the flaws of our hearts just as well as the potter sees the flaws of a pot.

I attended the hospital yesterday for my wife’s regular CT scan to assess how well her treatment is working on her cancer. The CT (Commuted Tomography) takes deep cross-sectional images of body tissues, showing details that can not be seen by a simple X-ray.

Father God was scanning bodies long before the CT scanner, and in greater detail – finding the true nature of man’s heart. He knows our spiritual condition without us attending any appointment; there is no hiding from Heaven’s soul scanner. Thus, let us surrender to His inspection that He may remold us today.

“Dear Father God, Master Creator of all things. You know my inmost being, every corner of my mind and heart – I surrender them to You today. Search my darkest thoughts, shine Your light there – make me a new creation that I may serve and glorify You more each day. AMEN.”
