Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.” Exodus 5:1
Bringing a negative message to someone in powerful authority is something most people do not want to do. It could bring about many repercussions against the one bringing the message. People will avoid it as much as possible, even when there is a higher authority standing behind them on the message. They will pass the job on to someone else and run in another direction.
God told Moses and Aaron to bring a message to Pharaoh and so they brought the message that God wanted Pharaoh to let His people go so that they could have a feast in the wilderness.
Although slavery has been abolished in some nations, it still occurs in many places around the world. Workers try to go in to get those enslaved released. It is a dangerous job. The slavers will fight for those they are holding at any cost.
Although physical slavery is occurring around the world, there is greater slavery occurring in every household, city, and nation in the world. It is a slavery that is occurring right in front of the eyes of the people, and most do not see it, and many ignore it.
That slavery is a slavery to sin.
Every believer should be able to see that others are enslaved to sin. They have a message from God to be brought. That message is the same as what Moses and Aaron brought Pharaoh. It is the message that Satan and sin must release His people so that they can worship Him.
It is the gospel message that the world needs to hear, and every believer must be willing to boldly bring it to those who need to hear it.
All around you are people who are enslaved by Satan to sin. Those people are dying in captivity. You have a message to set them free from God. In the name of Jesus people can be freed from the guilt of sin and given a new life that is not enslaved to sin and death. Be willing to boldly go and demand that sin release the hold it has on people so that they may be free to worship and live for God.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will open your eyes to those enslaved to sin around you; that God will give you the message they need to hear; and that you will boldly bring God’s message to those who need to hear it.
