While there are many teachings on the demonic, deliverance, and witchcraft, this post is focused on who and what you’re receiving from!
While most everyone has heard a teaching on 1 John 4:1, about testing the spirits to see where they’re from, my main concern is less about where they’re from and more about Why we started listening to them in the first place.
The Prophetic Realm has become so tainted with self-promotion and personal kingdom-building, that sometimes it’s difficult to tell whether what you’re actually hearing is coming from the Spirit of God or some other spirit instead. I personally have had to deal with “Prophets” who said “Thus saith the Lord” to me, but what they were saying was definitely not from the Spirit of God!
Some of these people were speaking from a religious spirit, and a few others were speaking by a spirit of divination, but many of them (honestly) were just prophesying out of their own souls.
Most of the time when people are prophesying out of their own souls, it’s because of personal immaturity between them and Jesus Christ. These people just need to spend more time in the Word, building a relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and learn to fall deeper in Love with Him.
Some people would say that “THEY JUST NEED MORE PRACTICE”, but what they really need is MORE PERSONAL ENCOUNTER WITH JESUS CHRIST AND THE CROSS that they’re supposed to be carrying daily!
If we as Prophetic People learn to deny ourselves, take up our Cross, and follow Him, (Luke 9:23), then we’ll fall more in Love (Agape) with Him and that Love will cause us to declare His Words, (not ours) to those around us who may really need a touch from Him!
You see, the things that all of the other spirits have in common is that THEY’LL ALWAYS EXALT SELF, but THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL ALWAYS EXALT JESUS CHRIST AND HIM CRUCIFIED. The divination spirit hates everyone, the religious spirit is self-absorbed and those Prophesying out of their own soul (I think) just love to listen to the sound of their own voice and look Important to everyone else.
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist…” 1 John 4:1-3
Learning to hear the Holy Spirit is Good, but when it comes to the Prophetic Realm (in my opinion) it’s not enough! Learning to hear and being Transformed by God’s Love, causes us to see everyone around us through the lens of that Love so that our personal perceptions begin to Supernaturally Align with the Lord.
What spirits are you listening to today? Are you listening to the spirits that are exalting themselves and building their own Kingdoms (with your finances) or are you listening to those who are full of the Holy Spirit and Exalting Jesus Christ and Him Crucified?
If it’s the first group, then maybe you should rethink your support of what they’re saying or doing, but if it’s those Exalting Jesus Christ and Him Crucified then what you’re hearing will not only Transform your life it’ll expand His Kingdom Coming!
Test the spirits family, because if it’s not the Holy Spirit you’re hearing, then you may find yourself going completely in the wrong direction in more ways than one!
