A Table In the Presence of the Enemy

If you choose the Lord’s Table, the enemy will leave and the Holy Spirit will immediately go to work upon your situation.

One of the things that has always been amazing to me, is that whenever the enemy is present in the midst of my life attempting to do his worst, the Holy Spirit is also Present watching over me. Both the enemy and the Holy Spirit are looking for something from each of us and that something is actually our agreement with whatever is currently going on in us or around us. Many people don’t realize it, but they are both looking for our permission to act according to our agreement with whatever we happen to be dealing with.

One night while I was sleeping the Lord gave me a dream, and in that dream, the enemy showed up. He was staring at me with such hatred that it even sent a shiver down my spine in the dream, but as I looked to the left there was a Table in front of me with Jesus Christ standing next to it.

This Table was filled with all kinds of things from Really incredible-looking fruit (of the Spirit), to what Looked Like Bread from Heaven and a Platter Filled with rolled-up scrolls upon it.

As I went over to the Table, I picked up a scroll off from the platter, but instead of reading it, I picked it up and ate it! It tasted like Honeycomb in my mouth and when I opened my mouth after eating it, what was written upon the scroll came out of my lips.

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with [a]oil; my [brimming] cup runs over. Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.” Psalms 23:5-6

As I turned to look at the enemy once more, he had left the scene completely knowing that he lost this battle and that I had made my choice. It was at that moment that I realized, especially at our lowest moments, there is a Table God has prepared for us during those times.

The enemy wants us at his table, but if we choose to sit down at the Lord’s table instead (coming into union and agreement with Him) the enemy has no choice but to leave!

“You cannot drink the Lord’s cup and the demons’ cup. You cannot partake of the Lord’s table and the demons’ table.” 1 Corinthians 10:21

There are two tables that we can choose to eat from. One is filled with God’s Promises and Truths while the other is filled with sickness, disease, fear, doubt, unbelief, and every other demonic agenda.

If we choose to sit at the enemy’s table and declare the things that he’s attempting to persuade us into, then he can move with impunity inside of our circumstances attempting to destroy us, because of our agreement with him. If we choose to sit at the Lord’s Table (despite our circumstances), the enemy loses all of his ability to act against us.

All during Jesus’s trip in the wilderness, (Matthew 4), the devil was looking for Jesus’s agreement by attempting to deceive Him, but even in the midst of those difficult circumstances Jesus Christ never gave in to his demands. He chose the Lord’s Table every time!

Maybe you’re going through some really difficult times in your personal life right now. If you are, then you need to be aware of the two tables that are being presented to you, because you have to choose which one you’re going to sit at and eat from.

If you choose the Lord’s Table, the enemy will leave and the Holy Spirit will immediately go to work upon your situation working upon your behalf for your good.

“We are assured and know that [[a]God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.” Romans 8:28

Don’t hesitate to sit at the Lord’s table, whether the enemy is present or not, because every good and perfect gift from the Lord is upon that Table for you to grab ahold of and hang on to regardless of your circumstances! Where are you going to Sit today?
