BUILDING STRONG HOMES podcast
HOST: CAROL ROPER
Welcome back to Part Two of Natalie Husk’s story. Last week Natalie shared about her years as a former model, where she was lured into the exciting culture of the modeling world. But once she became part of that world, the constant pursuit of perfection drove her to numb herself by becoming addicted to heroin and cocaine. Years later, she came to realize a repressed memory of being molested as a child was the catalyst that led her down the pathway of rebellion. If you haven’t listened to last week’s episode, I hope you’ll go back and hear the beginning of her story.
In this week’s episode, Natalie tells how she was finally set free from her addictions. We also talk about how our culture has been turned upside-down as far as morality and how harmful social media can be for kids. There’s a lot of deep stuff we go into in this episode, so you may not want little ears close by for this one. We also talk about eating disorders, something Natalie struggled with for years, and her advice about what to do and what not to do when trying to help someone with an eating disorder. In addition to that, she talks about her realization of what it’s like trying to maintain the same standard of beauty while living in the “real” world. There’s lots of great information and perspective in this interview.
