Whose Name Will You Walk In?

Every day you are given a choice of whose authority and path to walk in.

For all people walk each in the name of his god, but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God forever and ever. Micah 4:5

People love their independence. They want to be able to do things their own way and be successful at it. Many will choose their own path to walk in and who they will follow if they follow anyone at all. Some will be successful, while others will never see success, yet they still desire to walk their own path.

Micah states that everyone walks in the name of their own god, but he and those with him will walk in the name of the Lord their God forever.

The world follows many different gods, some are religious, and many are non-religious. Each of these gods has paths that must be walked to follow them, and that path may be different for each person.

Some of the most common gods are the ones of self-success, love of money, love of self, sexual pleasures, social status, and material things. Paths are walked to grow in each of these areas. While these areas may appear to bring success and fulfillment, they will always fail and bring death in the end.

Believers in God are to walk a different path. They are to walk the path that God has laid out before them, walking in the name of God alone. Walking in this way is obeying God and doing what He says in His way and time. It is walking in His power and authority, not one’s own personal abilities.

As one walks in the name of the Lord, one will always see success in the end. There may be difficulties and what appears to be failure in the walk, but in the end the believer is given eternal life. It is worth walking in the name of the Lord.

Every day you are given a choice of whose authority and path to walk in. The choices available are your own and the world’s path and authority, or God’s. Do not allow yourself to be caught up in the deceptive authority of this world and walk that path leading to death.

Choose today to walk in the power and authority of the Lord God Almighty and walk the path He has for you that will lead to eternal life. Walk in His name alone.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know the power and authority God has for you; that you will walk in God’s name in all that you do; that be obedient to all God commands of you; and that you will know the success God has for you.
