Who Is Your Father?

Believers need to stand up straight and tall, knowing who their Father is.

Chelub the brother of Shuhah begot Mehir, who was the father of Eshton. 1 Chronicles 4:11

Every person is a child, son, or daughter of someone else. The majority of people born around the world are born to someone who is not very well known outside of a small area of influence.

Some of those people do not even know who their parents are, since they were abandoned for adoption or put in an orphanage at a young age. Of those who know their parents, some are proud of them, while others would like not to be associated with them.

In the genealogical list, it lists Chelub as the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.

Knowing who one’s parents are can help a person understand some of their heritage and also possible medical health situations. It can also give a person a foundation as to where he is from.

Most parents are people who are not famous on a grand national scale. They are just common, ordinary people who work jobs and are trying to survive and raise a family as best as they can.

While believers may have famous parents or not-so-famous parents, all of them have one Father who is greater than any other. This Father is King of the entire world. He is the Creator of everything in the universe. He has absolute total control. He owns everything. Every believer is a child, son/daughter, of God.

God, the Father, loves every person so much that He made it possible for every human being to be one of His children.

Believers need to stand up straight and tall, knowing who their Father is. They need to let the world know who their Father is, so that others may also become one of His children.

You may or may not know your father here on earth. If you do know him, you may or may not be proud of him. Regardless of who your physical father is, you have God as your eternal Father.

God, as your Father, will never leave you nor forsake you. He will never mistreat you or abuse you. Everything that He does will be for your eternal good.

Know and understand the heritage that you have in God your Father that goes back to the beginning of time and into eternity in the future.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know God as your heavenly Father; that you will know God’s love and commitment to you; that you will let the world know who God is to you; and that you will know what God has done for you.
