Where Does God Need You?

When you’re not where you are meant to be, all kinds of temptations will surround you.

When good kings were meant to be at war, David decided to stay home watching a woman taking a bath!—It was the beginning of his downfall and should be a warning to us all. When you’re not where you are meant to be, all kinds of temptations will surround you.

WHERE DOES GOD NEED YOU TO BE RIGHT NOW? … STOP… don’t let your comforts answer!

Your comforts will always have great and persuasive reasons and arguments against being where you should be… and where God wants you to be. Your comforts will trade ‘bowls of soup’ for God’s anointing and inheritance. Your comforts will send invitations to do other things and join other festivals at the time God calls you to stand at your post to watch and pray. Your comforts will not rise early to pray, gather when it’s cold, show up when you’re needed, serve when you’re tired, offer grace when it’s difficult or give when it’s hard, but will quickly volunteer many alternatives, pleasures, thrones, distractions and compromises meant to set you up for Satan’s next temptation.

Isn’t it amazing the things our comforts will introduce us to? Ever consider the crazy things a person will consider sitting on their couch watching television or lazily resting on their bed during the day?

When you are not where you are meant to be, doing what you are meant to do, you should not be surprised that temptation has no trouble finding you primed and ready to sin.

If David was at war where he was supposed to be, he would not have allowed his eyes, thoughts, and lusts to focus on Bathsheba. He would not have been anywhere near such a sight.

At the time when kings go off to war… David remained in Jerusalem. One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful to look upon. [2 Samuel 11:1-2]

This is a time of war… what are you doing?
