When God Calls, Will You Answer?

His call will lead you on a path of life, victory, and eternity.

Then God spoke to Israel in the visions of the night, and said, “Jacob, Jacob!” And he said, “Here I am.” Genesis 46:2

In today’s society nearly everyone has a cell phone with them nearly every place that they go. Getting phone calls is extremely common. Most phones identify the number coming in as to whether it is a known number or not. If it is not known, most people will ignore the call and not answer it because they do not want to get a scam call. As a result, some important calls are missed.

After Jacob was told that Joseph was alive in Egypt, God came to him in a vision and called his name. Jacob answered that he was there and ready to listen to God.

Scam calls are made daily to people’s phones by scammers trying to get money from people. These scammers know that if they make enough phone calls to enough people, someone will fall for their scam and send them money. Knowing this, many people choose not to answer the phones unless they know who it is that is calling.

Thousands of voices are calling people every day to live a life of sin. Some sound sweet, good, and innocent. People get scammed into following those voices to the death.

Just as the world is calling people, God is also calling people. He knows every person by name and calls them by name. His desire is to lead them into an eternal life.

Many do not hear His calling due to the loud voices all around them. Others will hear and ignore His call.

Believers are to hear His call in the noise of this world and answer His call. Hearing what God is saying will lead the believer on the path to victory and eternity. If you own a cell phone, you get called often. While sometimes those calls are scams, many times they are legitimate callers you know. One call that you will come to you will not come through your cellphone but will come directly from God. He may call you to lead you and guide you on your path in this life. As He calls, be willing to hear His call and answer it. Hear what He has to say and obey what He has to say. It will lead you on a path of life, victory, and eternity.

Today, I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will hear God’s voice calling you; that you will answer when God calls you; and that you will obey all that God tells you to do or not do.
