Recently, I heard “The ones that He’s keeping for Himself” in the Spirit. I found myself scratching my head as to the meaning, so going to the Word of God (Bible) for the answer, I found this:
“No, God has not rejected and disowned His people [whose destiny] He had marked out and appointed and foreknown from the beginning.
Do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?
Lord, they have killed Your prophets; they have demolished Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life.
But what is God’s reply to him? I HAVE KEPT FOR MYSELF SEVEN THOUSAND MEN WHO HAVE NOT BOWED THE KNEE TO BAAL!” Romans 11: 2-4
It’s important to note here that the Name Baal means “owner, master, lord, or Husband”. God the Father has been keeping for Himself a people who have not covenanted with another by the Power of the Holy Spirit.
There are many who have made alliances with the wrong things and, in the process, have allowed other things to creep in. Many of these things that have been brought in have become “lord, master, or even owner” of these people, and as a result, brought things into the church which are in opposition to God and the cross of Jesus Christ.
The Good news is, though, God has been keeping a Group of people who belong to None other than Him. A people whose only allegiance is to Jesus Christ, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit. A people who will not settle for anything other than the Presence, Power, and Anointing of God to manifest in their lives and the lives of those around them.
The Company of 7000 are those who will not compromise with the world, the enemy, or anyone else. Those who have totally sold themselves out to Jesus Christ and Him crucified. This is a Remnant which is Holy as He is Holy, chosen as a catalyst by God in the earthly realms to show forth, not just His Power and Abilities, but His Character and His Person into the earth.
“Yet I will leave Myself 7,000 in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal and every mouth that has not kissed him.” 1 Kings 19:18
The 7000 refused to compromise; they wouldn’t bow to Baal or kiss him (come into agreement with him or allow him to access their lives), instead they kept their Covenant with God and stayed “set apart”.
There is a generation of believers, who I believe, are currently as this 7000 was. They have kept themselves separated from the corruption of other covenants and maintained a level of Holiness where God can move through their lives with Great Grace and Great Power.
Those who are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ or afraid to be called His own. These are they who will transform a generation and have the ability to not only do Signs, wonders, and miracles, but reveal His Heart to the Church and the World.
I challenge every believer today to live a “separated” life, Holy unto the Lord Jesus, and not to allow any other covenants into your life which would attempt to carry you off and away from Him.
Holiness (though it seems to have lost its appeal in many circles) is an Empowering force in every believer’s life, because we are called to be like Him (Holy), and we’re called to become a witness of His as well.
If you are in the 7000 camp already, Praise the Lord, because you are about to be Supernaturally Empowered to become a Witness of (not just His Power), but of His very Person and character as well. If you are not in the 7000 camp, then there’s no better time like the Present!
“So, come out from among them, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord, and touch not [any] unclean thing; then I will receive you kindly and treat you with favor,” 2 Corinthians 6:17
