The One That Remains

The true test of this season is will we be found faithful in the sight of God so that He can show Himself strong on our behalf.

Recently in a time of prayer, I heard this phrase in my spirit, “The one that remains.” Then as I continued to pray after hearing this, I heard this phrase again but repeated several times with different endings. The one that remains faithful. The one that remains hidden in the Word. The one that remains hidden in prayer. The one who remains focused on the Lord. I believe that this word is for many people, and God is looking for those who will remain. I believe the Lord is challenging many to take their consecration with the Lord to a deeper place in response to what He wants to do in this season.

The ones that remain in the place of devotion and true consecration with the Lord will be the ones God is going to elevate in this season. Those that have remained in the Word and in the place of prayer will carry out everything that the Lord has for them. Luke 12:42 says, “And the Lord said, “Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?”

God is always looking for those who will steward whatever He gives them wisely and diligently according to what He has instructed them to do. A wise steward is one that gets a word from God and carries it out to completion. The one that remains is the one that will reap in due season. It’s not the most equipped or talented that God is looking to advance. It’s simply the faithful.

I believe that we are in a significant prophetic season where the Lord is ready to pour out His spirit like never before. However, the Lord is looking for those that are faithful and steadfast to use to bring forth the Kingdom of God in this season. 2 Chronicles 16:9 says, “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him….” Will you be one God can count on to be wholly given to him in loyalty and faithfulness?

Anytime in scripture we see the word ‘heart,’ it is talking about not our physical heart but our mind and our emotions. So this verse is saying that the Lord will show up strong on behalf of the person whose Spirit man, mind and emotions are fixed on Him. I want to challenge you in this season to fix your gaze upon the Lord without wavering and see what God will do in and through your life. The true test of this season is will we be found faithful in the sight of God so that He can show Himself strong on our behalf.

In this season, the Lord is looking for those He can find who are faithful in order to pour out His spirit, wisdom, power and favor upon them to impact those around them and even entire geographical locations for the Kingdom of God. The Bible tells us that God is a jealous God that shares His glory with no man, but God continually uses those who are consecrated unto Him to do great exploits. As God is looking for the one that will remain faithful, will you be found by Him?

As the Lord is looking for wise stewards to bring forth His will and Kingdom in the earth, will you be one He cant count on? Now more than ever, we must set our faces like flint on the face of God so that we can be those God shows Himself strong through! Be the one that remains faithful. Be the one who remains in the place of prayer and in the Word of God every single day. Be the one who remains steadfast and watch what God will do!
