Recently as I was waking up, the Holy Spirit whispered a verse to me that I hadn’t heard in years and I believe it was a warning to each of us as Believers:
“Take for us the foxes, the [a]little foxes that spoil the vineyards, for our vineyards are in blossom.” Song of Solomon 2:15
As I heard this unusual verse resonating in my Spirit and in my mind, I said, “Holy Spirit who are the Little Foxes?” And He said back to me, “The Little Foxes are those things which attempt to destroy My Fruit in Your Life from Right off of the branches of your Vine!”
The term “Little Foxes” is described as a Jackal or one who feeds off of dead things and steals fruit, often operating cooperatively with others of its kind.
In the demonic realm one of the things that the enemy will always go after in your personal life, (in an attempt to devour it or to destroy it), is the Fruit of the Spirit in your personal life!
The Fruit of the Spirit is where the Seed for Your future comes from, that God Supernaturally places within your life, and it’s also how He multiples that seed for you on a personal scale. That Fruit is also what creates Maturity in your life as the character of Jesus Christ comes forth in you and from you.
From that Fruit of your Vine is where the New Wine of God’s Presence and power comes from individually as well:
“Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] JUST AS NO BRANCH CAN BEAR FRUIT OF ITSELF WITHOUT ABIDING IN (being vitally united to) THE VINE, NEITHER CAN YOU BEAR FRUIT UNLESS YOU ABIDE IN ME. I am the Vine; you are the branches. WHOEVER LIVES IN ME AND I IN HIM BEARS MUCH (abundant) FRUIT. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.” John 15:4-5
“But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is LOVE, JOY (gladness), PEACE, PATIENCE (an even temper, forbearance), KINDNESS, GOODNESS (benevolence), FAITHFULNESS,GENTLENESS (meekness, humility), SELF-CONTROL (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [[a]that can bring a charge].” Galatians 5:22-23
So what these Foxes (or Jackals) are going after is what the Holy Spirit wants to produce from your intimate relationship with Jesus Christ as He is being formed within you.
When the devil came to Jesus in the wilderness (Matthew 4), the main thing that he attempted to assault wasn’t Jesus’s ministry, wasn’t His Miracle working power that He was going to operate in, but he attempted to challenge Jesus’s Personal Identity!
The Fruit from the Vine of your life is a direct result of your personal identity in Jesus Christ! So the enemy sends those little foxes to you, in an attempt to destroy (or to take away) the Fruit of the Spirit from off of the vine of your life, thus destroying or stealing the seeds of your future successes from you.
But the only way that he can do this, is by subterfuge, attempting to make you believe that a lie about your personal identity is actually the truth. When he threw those identity tests at Jesus Christ in the wilderness, JESUS THREW THE UNADULTERATED TRUTH BACK AT HIM IN RESPONSE.
You need to realize that those little foxes that the enemy has sent your way, were sent to destroy the Fruit of the Spirit, along with your personal identity in Jesus Christ. His goal is to make you Fruitless and Unproductive.
There’s a series of things mentioned in 2 Peter 1:3-9 that describes a list that the Holy Spirit wants to manifest in your life and mine. The things on that list will keep you from being idle or unfruitful in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, but those who are deficient in those things on this list, become oblivious to the fact that they’ve been cleansed of their old sins.
Those foxes are after your Fruit and are attempting to challenge your Identity in Him! Whatever the enemy sends your way, counter it with the Word of God! Don’t let him destabilize your identity in Christ Jesus, or carry you off as plunder, stealing the Fruit of the Spirit in your life.
Don’t bite upon the bait hook of offense or insecurity. Always remember that you’re more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ who strengthens you!
