He comes into our lives to reside within our hearts, to guide us each day in the ways of Holiness.

FOR GOD, WHO SAID, “LIGHT SHALL SHINE OUT OF DARKNESS,” IS THE ONE WHO HAS SHONE IN OUR HEARTS TO GIVE THE LIGHT OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE GLORY OF GOD IN THE FACE OF CHRIST.

2 Corinthians 4:6 (NASB)

A few days ago, I was at our local pharmacy for prescriptions when I passed a postbox in the traditional Royal Mail red, with the distinctive Royal crown emblazoned prominently. Such things in the UK are a constant reminder of our monarch on the throne in Buckingham Palace. Another sign is the King’s flag flying aloft a residence, proclaiming that King Charles III is within its walls. In the brief moment before the post box, a small voice within asked, “ Alan, is there proof for others to see of King Jesus being in residence in your life?

When we totally surrender our lives to God, accepting the gift of Salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ, we accept Him as our Lord and Saviour. He comes into our lives to reside within our hearts, to guide us each day in the ways of Holiness – the family likeness of children of God. This is the Light that shines out of the darkness of our old life, shining for all to see that we meet. If we are in God’s family those we meet will recognize the difference between us and those who don’t know God personally…or they should.

I HAVE BEEN CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST; AND IT IS NO LONGER I WHO LIVE, BUT CHRIST LIVES IN ME; AND THE LIFE WHICH I NOW LIVE IN THE FLESH I LIVE BY FAITH IN THE SON OF GOD, WHO LOVED ME AND GAVE HIMSELF UP FOR ME.

Galatians 2:20

Dear Reader, as you begin this new week, can you say that you bear the family resemblance of Christ with those you meet? Is there unmistakable evidence of Christ within your life, that even non-believers see Him in you?
