It was never about Pharoah or Lot.
It was never about Peninnah or Saul.
It was about an attempt to distract them from Heaven’s higher call.
What’s true of God is that He will allow the enemy’s hand.
God is in control and now I finally understand.
Lot chose to leave and a blessing was bestowed.
Peninnah provoked and made Hannah’s prayers pure and bold.
Saul slung arrows and David worshipped God still.
Jesus will use the enemy as a puppet…to accomplish His very will.
You don’t believe me.
Recall Lazarus who died.
Jesus waited three more days, while Mary and Martha mourned and cried.
He said we would SEE His glory if we’d only believe.
He told the men to remove the stone, as He rolled up His righteous sleeves.
“Lazarus come out. Now remove his grave clothes.”
Do you hear His resurrection shout?
On with new wineskins…off with death’s old.
Redeeming the bad is what our Savior’s all about.
Lazarus would not stay entombed, but death would precede the victory route.
Lazarus had to experience death so that he could experience new life.
I too had to experience death to self…to burn the bridge to appeasing those with strife.
“Lazarus is sleeping. I will wake him in three days.”
They didn’t realize that death never has the final say.
You still don’t believe me?
Recall Pharoah’s chariots or even remember the Cross.
The enemy raced to steal, kill, destroy…but all for Heaven’s gain.
Nothing truly lost.
It was never about Pharoah or Lot.
It was never about Peninnah or Saul.
It’s about a Savior who sees us weep, and invites us to lift our gaze above it all.
“I am the resurrection. (John 11:25)
“You will pass through high waters on dry ground. (Isaiah 43:2)
“Let Lot go so you can hear Heaven’s promised sound: (Genesis 13:8-18)
“Penniniah is provoking, but let her propel you to pray. (1 Samuel 1:6-20)
“Saul is jealous of your anointing, but David…be purified through your praise.” (1 Samuel 18:6-9)
Turn your eyes upon Jesus.
Look full in His wonderful face.
Then the things of this world will grow strangely dim…in the light of His glory and grace.
It was never about them.
They just compel us to bow as we look up through the haze…
…to see the adoration of our Father, surrendering to His SMILING gaze!
Your destiny is before you. You notice it by seeing where opposition abounds.
It’s time to walk boldly into your promised land, where the favor of God (like a shield) surrounds.
