“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”
1 Peter 2:9 KJV
1 Peter 2:9 KJV
While the word “Peculiar” in scripture actually means “Purchased,” the definition of it in our society today usually means “odd, weird, or out of the ordinary.”
Most people that I have met who belong to Jesus Christ could fit into both of those definitions. And, most Prophetic Voices that I have met personally would qualify as odd in my book.
While I never met William Archibald Spooner, he was a clergyman in the United Kingdom years ago and was a personal friend of the Queen of England. Those Prophetic Voices out there who think that you’re Peculiar by most natural standards would have found yourself in good company if you had ever met Mr. Spooner.
William had a way of mixing up the syllables in many of his spoken phrases as well as being very absent-minded, but he was greatly loved. Some of his more notable statements were at public events where he declared, “FLING OUT THE HAGS!” Instead of “HANG OUT THE FLAGS” or when he was making a toast to the Queen of England, where he said, “HERES TO THE QUEER OLD DEEN!” Instead of the “DEAR OLD QUEEN!”
While The Holy Spirit often takes what is foolish in the world to confound the Wise, and what is worthless and turns it into Priceless, there are many of us in the Body of Christ who might fit into that category.
The Testament to William Archibald Spooner’s life, may not be that he healed the masses, but rather that he was fearfully and wonderfully made by God, and that he will always be remembered for his Love of Jesus Christ and His influence upon others.
You may not be the most articulate speaker out there, you may not be the one with the most Charisma, but God can take your life, in whatever form it currently is, and Transform it into something that can change the world for Him.
To quote Kathryn Khulman, “LORD JESUS, IF YOU CAN MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING, THEN HERE’S NOTHING!”
The Holy Spirit used Kathryn’s “Nothing” and turned it into “Something” that had an impact upon the whole world to this day, what do you think that God can do with You?
