No Grumbling

It is easy to look at something and find fault with it.

Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door! James 5:9

Being dissatisfied is a common feeling among most people. Grumbling and complaining about what is wrong or how things should be is the topic in most breakrooms in businesses. Everyone feels that their feelings and opinions should be heard and taken into serious consideration, whether they are good or bad. They know what is best in every situation and are quick to let the world know it.

As he is talking about being patient, James tells the people to not grumble against each other or they will be condemned because the judge is ready to walk into their world.

It is easy to look at something and find fault with it. Seldom do things appear to go completely right on a regular basis. When people see these faults, they will often grumble and complain about it. Life is not going fair, and they want the world to know it.

Often these words are done under the breath. It is a quiet mumbling about what is wrong, without directly confronting those believed to be wrong. Actions like this occur inside the church. People grumble and complain about the pastor, the worship team, or some other aspect of the church. Others will grumble against God as the Israelites did. People are generally unhappy.

God hates grumbling. When grumbling occurs it is all about self and what self wants. As self is put on the throne, God is removed, thus one will be condemned and cast out. The day of judgment is coming. Jesus is ready to come back any day soon and judge those who are standing against Him.

Instead of grumbling, people must trust God, lift others up in prayer, and endure difficult times as a child of God.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that God will reveal times in which you grumble; that God will give you patience to keep from grumbling; that you will trust God in every situation; and that God will not have to judge you.
