Most Effective Tactics for a Happy Ever After

Let’s prove our acceptance of our husbands and stop trying to change them.

So how do you get from wherever you are in your marriage to Happily Ever After?

Admire Him

Our men want to know we still think they’re fantastic guys. As their wives, we can complement our husbands in ways we don’t want another woman to say or do.

Let’s tell our guys the good qualities we see in them and ignore the rest. Compliment your man on his personality, physical characteristics, the way he guides the children, and great work habits.

She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. ~Proverbs 31:12

Accept Him

God asks us to accept our husbands as Christ accepts us. We didn’t become their personal Holy Spirit when we married them, and it’s not our responsibility to improve our men.

Let’s prove our acceptance and stop trying to change them.

Gals, nagging doesn’t work. It usually irritates our guys and even causes unnecessary arguments. Try talking it out instead, and remember your way isn’t the only right way.

True love is not a feeling by which we are overwhelmed. It is a committed, thoughtful decision. ~M. Scott Peck

Adapt to His Leadership

God gave our husbands the role of leaders with the responsibility to protect and provide for us. It’s our responsibility as wives to figure out how to do things our husbands’ way and not lose our own identity.

Discussing the life-changing issues with our husbands as they arise allows us to explore both perspectives of a situation. Our viewpoint provides our men with information and insight they need to make the best decisions as they consider the whole family’s needs.

For wives, this means being devoted to your husbands like you are tenderly devoted to our Lord, for the husband provides leadership for the wife as Christ provides leadership for His church. ~Ephesians 5:22-23 The Passion Translation

Don’t allow any illegal, immoral, or physically abusive actions in your marriage. If you’re in danger, seek outside assistance immediately.
