While I have done and heard many teachings on the Gifts of the Spirit over the years, one of the gifts I almost never hear talked about is the Word of Wisdom.
“For to one is given by the Spirit the WORD OF WISDOM; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;” 1 Corinthians 12:8
While prophecy and Word of Knowledge are talked about, and discussed often, the Word of Wisdom is often passed by, either because it’s not understood, or because it’s deemed unnecessary. But if there was ever a generation that walked this earth that was in desperate need of Wisdom from God IT’S THIS ONE!
A Word of Wisdom brings God’s Solutions to our issues in this life through His Supernatural Understanding of our current situations. While a Word of Knowledge often points out the issues we are struggling with by the Holy Spirit, a Word of Wisdom provides solutions to those situations for us from the Mind of God Himself.
I have seen these solutions turn people’s lives completely around, as the Mind of Christ is released to them by the Holy Spirit through a Word of His Wisdom from the Throne of God This wisdom operates through Obedience to the Word of the Lord and by submission to the Word itself.
Just the other day, I was praying over a dear sister in Christ who had been struggling for years with many things in her health, and I heard the Holy Spirit whisper to me, “TELL HER TO STOP DRINKING SODA!”
As soon as I heard this, I asked her, “DO YOU DRINK A LOT OF PEPSI?” And her eyes got really big and she said, “YES I DO, WHY?” And I said to her, “THE HOLY SPIRIT IS SAYING THAT YOU SHOULD CUT THE SODA OUT OF YOUR LIFE AND THEN YOUR COMPLETE HEALING WILL MANIFEST.”
She immediately stopped drinking it and all of her health issues (by two weeks later) disappeared completely from her life. While my understanding of her drinking Pepsi was a Word of Knowledge from the Lord, it was the Wisdom of God that was telling her to stop.
While that probably doesn’t sound very spiritual to some people, it was huge for her, because all of the physical issues she was having disappeared completely. Now she’s happy and healthy because she obeyed what the Holy Spirit said to her.
“If any of you LACK WISDOM, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN HIM.” James 1:5
God has WISDOM for each of us, to not only succeed in this life but to become victorious over every situation that gets thrown our way, by the world around us or the enemy (the devil) who hates us. This Wisdom and Knowledge only work when we put our actions behind them through obedience.
The Holy Spirit is about to release Huge Amounts of His Wisdom and Revelation to any Son and Daughter who asks for it today. Not so that we can brag about it, but so that we can be totally successful and healthy going forward into the Destiny that He has for us!
Revelation Knowledge is great, but it’s a truly winning combination when God’s Wisdom is attached to It!
