Loudly Glorifying God

The moment one realizes what God has done, one should stop and give God all the glory.

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, Luke 17:15

When a person wins something big, that person is extremely excited and shouts it out to everyone else. That person is willing to let the world know that there was a victory win. It does not matter if it is a game of chance or a game of skill, the victory of winning is the same and the excitement is there. Sometimes, in the win, the person will give honor to whoever had helped that person win the victory.

Luke records that Jesus had healed ten lepers. One of them turned around and returned to Jesus, glorifying God with a loud voice when he realized he had been healed.

Taking glory for something that occurs is commonly done in this world. People rarely will pass that honor to those who helped them get to that victory. In the excitement of the victory, everything is about self and that is what one deserved to receive all along.

God works in the lives of people all the time. Things turn around for their good or they are healed from some major injury or sickness. Instead of giving God all the praise, many will give thanks to the doctors, the medicine, or the good luck. This also occurs within the church.

Believers, who truly believe in God, will realize that the good turn of events in their lives was done by God. It is only God who heals, though He may work through a doctor and medicine. It is God that gives the ability and favor to accomplish some great task.

The moment one realizes what God has done, one should stop and give God all the glory. This should be done out loud for all the world to hear. It is an opportunity to be His witness.

When things suddenly go your way or in your favor, how do you react? Do not allow yourself to be like the world and say it was all your own doing or that it was all someone else’s doing. Give God the glory for what He has done and is doing in your life. Proclaim it out loud for all to hear. Other believers and the world need to hear what God is doing and can do.

Are you giving God all the glory?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will recognize when God is working in your life; that you will give God all the glory for good things in your life; and that the world will hear your testimony of what God has done.
