I heard the Lord say, “Tell those with anxious hearts and fearful thoughts, ‘Just breathe— I’ve got you!’”
Whatever you are experiencing that is producing anxiety or fear— blow it out and let it go. Unclench your teeth, relax your jaw, let your shoulders down, then take a deep breath in, and slowly let it out. Now— turn the eyes of your heart on Jesus.
You are being held by the One who knew your needs and your anxious thoughts before they were formed.
Drink deep of his love and allow your mind to remember his words that promise that he will never leave or forsake you. He has not promised that we will never experience suffering— as a matter of fact he says, “In this world you will have suffering, but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world.”
Whatever you are facing— the Lord has overcome it and you have inherited his overcoming victory.
He is the God who fed thousands with just a few fish and loaves of bread. He is the One who forgave Peter’s denial and restored him to be a cornerstone in our Christian faith. He is the One who healed the woman who had the issue of blood for so many years— and with just a touch of his garment.
This is who is with you, who is holding you, and who has already overcome whatever you are facing.
Let go of all of that anxiety and reject all of that fear that is trying to keep you from trust and faith. Ask for his breath to fill your lungs and for His Spirit to minister peace to your soul and rest to your anxious thoughts.
God’s got you!
