Inexpressible Joy

Life is filled with trouble, pain, and suffering, but with Jesus, there is a joy that cannot be expressed.

whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 1 Peter 1:8

Joy is something that people will have or hear about occasionally. Extreme joy is very rare for most people. It always appears to be just out of reach being burdened with many challenges in life. Depression and sadness reign in the hearts and minds of people all over the world. All that is seen or heard is doom and gloom, troubles, pain, and suffering.

As Peter talks about the trials of life, he states that they are filled with an inexpressible joy and glory because they are believing in Jesus, whom they have not seen.

The world is filled with people who are depressed for many different reasons. Yet, there are people who have times of extreme joy. Marriages can often begin with extreme joy of being together. The birth of a new child brings great joy that cannot be fully expressed. Graduating some school brings great joy to many people.

When people have the level of joy that some of these things bring, they cannot fully express what they are feeling. The emotions run too deep for words.

Believers can have that same joy at all times and in every circumstance life throws their way. Life is filled with trouble, pain, and suffering, but with Jesus, there is a joy that cannot be expressed. He has forgiven the believer of every sin that has the requirement of punishment of death.

As believers take their eyes off of the troubles of this world and put them on Jesus, they have a hope that can overcome every bad situation in life. There is a hope of salvation that Jesus is bringing one day. This gives a joy that cannot be put into words.

Life will throw things at your way to try and bring you down. Do not look at the temporary troubles of this world, but put your focus upon Jesus. He has paid the price for your sins and is going to return soon to give you eternal life, the salvation of your soul. Knowing this should fill your heart with a joy that cannot be expressed and will give you strength to keep moving forward in Jesus through the difficulties of this life.

Are you filled with this inexpressible joy?

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know what Jesus has done for you; that you will know the inexpressible joy you can have in Jesus; and that His joy will give you strength to overcome the challenges of this world.
