I had a really crazy impression on the morning of December 13, of a junkyard, but not just any junkyard. This junkyard was not filled with abandoned cars and vehicles, and it wasn’t filled with discarded metals, but instead, it was filled with unfulfilled Promises!
When I first approached the gate to this yard, instead of where you would normally see the sign for the business, there was a Sign that Said, “HOPE DIFFERED AND UNFULFILLED WORDS!”
As I walked through the gate, upon each side of this Yard, there were not cars or trucks but all different types and kinds of signs. Some signs were large, some were small, some were round and others square, but upon each one of these signs, there were written different promises. Some of these Promises were covenants that were made between people, while others appeared to be Prophetic Words that had been spoken but had never been fulfilled.
As I took an account of all these things I sensed that God was saying that it was time to clear the yard! To remove all of the Signs from past failures and unfulfilled Words, whether we were the ones who didn’t keep them, or whether it was someone else, it was time to clear the entire inventory of them all.
So many of us are hanging onto things that have taken place in our pasts. Promises that were made which went unfulfilled have created a residency for Hope Deferred to creep into our lives, in an attempt to disrupt God’s ability to bring us into the future Destiny He has for our lives. It’s time to empty the Junkyard of all the signs of the past, gather them up in a pile in your Spirit, and have a Holy Ghost bonfire!
Paul said it this way:
“I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made it my own [yet]; but one thing I do [it is my one aspiration]: FORGETTING WHAT LIES BEHIND AND STRAINING FORWARD TO WHAT LIES AHEAD, I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward. Philippians 3:13-14
Forgetting isn’t just being absent-minded, but it is also an act of our own will and a conscious decision to walk away from those things and never look back at them again.
Don’t allow that which hasn’t been fulfilled in your life to become a place of Residency for Hope Deferred to come in, but trust the Lord instead that He is going to bring every promise He’s spoken to you into fulfillment, while at the same time releasing the accounts of those who haven’t kept theirs.
