Now it will come about that
In the last days
The mountain of the house of the LORD
Will be established as the chief of the mountains,
And will be raised above the hills;
And all the nations will stream to it.
And many peoples will come and say,
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
That He may teach us concerning His ways
And that we may walk in His paths.”
For the law will go forth from Zion
And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
Isaiah 2:2-3 (NASB)
Lately, in my readings of Isaiah, I can’t help but be enthused by the prophecies regarding Israel, specifically Jerusalem. Even though the world news outlets have largely forgotten Israel and their enemies, God has not forgotten them. On reflection, I am convinced that the news blackout is spiritually motivated. As believers, we must be cautious in how we read the news – we must read it through Biblical spectacles to see the truth.
Unlike my spectacles I am wearing today, the Word of God does not change and always gives the right view. Regarding the promises of God, there are many verses that tell us that He is true to His promises – regardless of what the news anchor on many channels may say.
“But you, Israel, My servant,
Jacob whom I have chosen,
Descendant of Abraham My friend,
You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth,
And called from its remotest parts
And said to you, ‘You are My servant,
I have chosen you and not rejected you.”
Isaiah 41:8-9
Dear Reader, we who believe in the Almighty, His Son, and Holy Spirit are looking forward confidently to our Lord and King’s reign in Jerusalem. We will see it someday, whether it be in our lifetime here or from the Gloryland – Hallelujah! In all this we need to be like the Israelites in Egypt, making ready for the journey ahead of them. Let us together always remember Israel and Jerusalem; praying for them every day – making ready for our Lord’s return.
In the days to come Jacob will take root,
Israel will blossom and sprout,
And they will fill the whole world with fruit.
Isaiah 27:6
