Recently, the Holy Spirit reminded me of a memory from many years back. My parents had taken me to school when I was in first grade, and I remember that I was substantially smaller than the other boys in my class. When you’re smaller, you’re often picked on by the kids who are bigger than you, because of it.
The other kids in the class decided that, because I was the smallest, I was fair game, so some of them started harassing me while my dad was still there in the classroom.
To me, those other kids were bigger than I was, and being the New kid in class was somewhat intimidating by itself, but my dad came over and did something which not only changed the circumstances, but it changed my perception of my situation as well! He came over and picked me up and sat me on His Shoulders.
Although I wasn’t wild about heights either, I became untouchable by those others who sought to do me any harm. My dad didn’t do anything to them, but he definitely came to my rescue. None of those other kids dared to take a swipe at him, for he was way too big, and even if they had, it wouldn’t have even phased him.
From up there, not only did those who were attempting to harm me look small to me, but the room looked different as well. That one experience helped to change my perceptions, not just of those seeking to harm me, but of my opinions about myself as well.
Maybe some of you are feeling like I was feeling, bullied, small in your own sight, or intimidated by your surroundings. Your Heavenly Father can change all that in moments. He will reach down and pick you up and sit you upon His Shoulders from which point you will experience His Divine Protection as well as a change of perspective!
“But You, O Lord, be merciful and gracious to me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
By this I know that You favor and delight in me, because my enemy does not triumph over me.
And as for me, You have upheld me in my integrity and set me in Your presence forever.” Psalms 41:10-12
When you have your Daddy in the room, anything that would try to come against you will come Face to Face with Him. Every demonic bully that has tried to come against you will be dealt with by Him. He will let you see things from a vantage point that will alter your perceptions of your circumstances, your enemies, and yourself in the process! He is going to raise you up in the midst of your enemies. YOU’RE NOT IN THIS ALONE!
Never forget WHO YOUR DADDY IS!
