Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen. Ephesians 6:24
Undeserved favor is something that most people want. They want others to not hold things against them and give them what they desire. This is often sought out of a call to love others. The world will love when there is something in it for themselves. The more that one gets, the more one will choose to love, yet that love will quickly disappear if what is desired is not given. Love becomes conditional and not very sincere.
Paul ends his letter to the Ephesian church with a prayer that grace be given to those who sincerely love their Lord Jesus Christ.
Claiming to love someone is easy to do. Showing that love is a much different story. When things are going well, it is easy for people to show love. During difficulties or pain, showing love becomes difficult. Sincerely loving a person is put to the test.
People claim to believe in and love Jesus all over the world. While many sincerely love Jesus, there are many who are just making those claims without sincerity of the heart.
The love of sin and ways of the world take a higher place in their life than the righteous ways of Jesus that they are called to live. They want God’s grace without striving to live in holiness and righteousness that Jesus paid for them to live. In the end, judgment is waiting for those who live this way.
Believers are to love Jesus with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength. That is sincere love, not the false love of the world. When they love in that way, God has grace for them in times of struggle and pain.
Claiming to love God is something that is easy for you to do. The test is loving God when things of life are in chaos and painful and temptation to sin is hitting you from all sides. You must choose to sincerely love God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Put God and His ways first in your life. As you do so, God will have grace and mercy upon you when you slip up and fall into sin. He will pick you up and carry you forward by His grace.
Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will love Jesus with all of your being; that you will know God’s grace in your life; that God show His abundant grace to you; and that you will live your life serving God.
