Fresh Oil

When you outlast the warfare, that fresh anointing comes upon you for your next season and assignment.

I want to encourage you today with something the Lord has been speaking to me about lately and that is to endure seasons of warfare in order to step into a fresh anointing. Never waste your warfare season by giving up, retreating, or falling into doubt or despair. Warfare seasons are one of the most powerful things God uses in order to bring you into breakthrough and fresh anointing.

Many believers have journals full of prophetic words, hopes, dreams, and aspirations, things that they want to see fulfilled. However, as soon as they encounter difficulty or a trying season, they turn back. I’ve seen many people I knew in my spirit were right on the verge of their breakthrough who desperately wanted to give up because they had grown so weary in the middle of warfare. Don’t ever let this be you, my friends! When you go through extreme crushing in your life, it is not because God has forsaken you or that His promises to you are untrue. No! God allows tests, trials, and tribulations to come so that we can be refined and prepared for the promise. Seasons of warfare, crushing, and difficulty are what lead to fresh oil.

The more crushing that an olive endures, the more oil it produces. We say to God that we want Him to use us, that we want a fresh anointing to step into our calling. But what many don’t realize is that there is always a process of purification and pressing that will proceed the fulfillment of the promise. If you are going to go through that pressing process, you must be willing to endure the warfare seasons that come before the breakthrough. Don’t waste that valuable season of warfare by giving in to discouragement or doubt. Know that when you encounter tests and trials, it is because you are being pressed to get that fresh oil.

Many people allow themselves to become worn down during a warfare season. Then when the breakthrough comes, they are unable to walk in it. The enemy wants to use a season of warfare to distract you from what is only the other side. So when you encounter these kinds of seasons, always remember they are a time of preparation for promise, not punishment. The fresh oil comes from seasons of pressing. There is no other way. Even though these seasons can be painful and feel like they are just meant to delay you, God is always using them to prepare you for what you will step into on the other side. So don’t get weary in well doing! Keep your gaze upon the Lord and allow Him to prepare you for everything He has called you to do so that when the time comes, you can run straight into your breakthrough season.

When the enemy cannot stop you, he will attempt to delay or distract you because he knows there is fresh anointing coming from that difficult season, even when you cannot see it. Nehemiah was building a wall, focusing on the assignment God had given to Him, when people started to come against him with accusations, threats, and taunting. But Nehemiah refused to come down and give in to distraction. He never wasted the warfare. Instead, he just kept building what God had called him to build with a hammer in one hand and a sword in the other. This is how we should position ourselves in times of trouble. Remain focused on what God has said and just keep going. When you outlast the warfare, that fresh anointing comes upon you for your next season and assignment.

If you are in a season of warfare, don’t let it go to waste. Believe for that fresh anointing to come from the pressing and the process that will lead you to your promise. In this season, don’t allow weariness or worry rob you of your breakthrough. Stay in there with God and watch what He will do! This is your time! Prepare for the fresh oil
