Emptied To Be Filled

You have only been emptied so that you can be a vessel that will be filled.

For those who are experiencing being fully emptied— know that soon you will be fully filled with miraculous fresh oil.

This is not a pleasant experience or feeling, but do not despair because empty jars are what is required to receive miraculous fresh oil.

In the story of “The Widow and the Oil” in 2 Kings 4:1-7, we read about a widow facing poverty and the threat of losing her sons to a creditor that she can’t pay. All she has is a small amount of oil left that is about to run out. Elisha, the prophet, comes to her and instructs her to borrow as many empty jars as she can obtain and pour her remaining oil into them. Her almost empty supply of oil miraculously fills all the empty vessels. The oil stopped when all the empty jars were full. She then sells the oil, and it not only pays her creditors (saving her sons)but she also has enough left over to support herself and her sons for the rest of her life.

As long as there are empty jars, the oil will not stop being poured out.

It may seem as though the body of Christ only has a very small supply of spiritual oil left from the past season but that is all that is needed— along with as many empty jars as can be obtained— to see the fresh oil of heaven poured out in a miraculous measure.

You may be one of those empty jars that is about to be filled!

Stand in faith even if you feel nothing but empty. God is gathering empty jars to bring a fresh outpouring. You may only have a single olive left, but it is enough for God to press and bring the miracle that you need and His Church needs.

You have only been emptied so that you can be a vessel that will be filled.
