Denying Christ In Actions

You must be willing to ask yourself if the actions you are doing show your belief in God or deny your belief in God.

They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work. Titus 1:16

When it comes to hiring people, every employer has a set of basic requirements that are needed in order for them to consider hiring someone. If that person does not meet all of those requirements, the hiring does not take place. Requirements are needed to ensure that the person will be able to do the job correctly and be a good representative of the business. Many do not meet those basic requirements and are not able to be hired.

Paul tells Titus that there are some who claim to know God, but their actions deny Him. They act in ways that are disobedient and sinful, so they are disqualified from being able to do good works for God.

It is easy for a person to claim to know God and believe in Jesus. All it takes is saying a few right words to make those statements. Nearly every place a person may go there are people who claim to know God.

While people claim to know God, there are many whose lives deny that claim. They refuse to obey any of God’s commands. They purposefully live in sin and refuse to repent of those sins. Accepting the sinful practices of the world, they try to claim that God also accepts sin.

True believers are to be set apart and different from the world. Their lives are to be a reflection of who God is and what He is like. All of their actions are to be a representation of God’s moral character, making them a witness of who Jesus is.

Acting in this way is truly knowing who God is and believing in the work Jesus did on the cross. Each day you go about doing many different types of actions. The actions that you do are a representation of the character of who you are and what you believe. You must be willing to ask yourself if the actions you are doing show your belief in God or deny your belief in God. Do not allow yourself to claim belief in God while purposefully living in sin.

Obey God and do what He says so that you will be qualified to do the good works God has planned for you to do, without denying Christ and being false.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will know God and His character; that you will obey God in every area of your life; that your actions will prove your belief in Jesus; and that you will be qualified to do the good works God has for you to do.
