Bear Witness To What You Saw

Each individual believer has one’s own story as to what they have seen God do and heard from Him.

who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. Revelation 1:2

In every courtroom, there are attorneys who are searching for eyewitnesses to help them solve a situation. People who are direct eyewitnesses have the best testimony as to what had occurred. Many people, however, do not like to be an eyewitness. They fear retaliation or don’t want to take the time it takes to be the witness that is needed. Others will fear that their words will not be believed, and choose not to be a witness.

John opens his letter to the churches saying that he bore witness to God’s word and everything that he saw concerning Jesus Christ.

Direct eyewitnesses have the best testimony as to what had happened. They often know the truth the best. Much of the news or information that people hear is at minimum third party or further down the road. The further down the line information is, the higher the chance it is misconstrued or changed.

The world tries its best to make Jesus Christ out to be false. Believers are often shut down with false lies in order to keep the world’s ways of doing things going.

Every person in the world has a personal experience in life that no one else in the world has exactly in the same way. Each person must be willing to stand up for what they have experienced and tell others about it, especially if it is good news.

Just as the world has experience, believers also have experiences. Each individual believer has one’s own story as to what they have seen God do and heard from Him. Each one has a testimony as to what God has done in their lives personally and must be willing to tell the world that testimony.

You have been through different experiences than any other person in the world. As a believer, you also have direct experience with why you believe in God and what He has done in your life. Do not keep that testimony of who God is to you and what He has done for you to yourself. Go out into the world and give your testimony for others to hear and have the opportunity to believe in Jesus also. It may not be written down, as John’s was, but it can be used by God to change lives.

Today I pray that you will know Jesus as your Lord and Savior; that you will talk about what God has done in your life; that the world will hear your testimony of Jesus Christ; and that God will touch lives through your testimony.
