A Time to Choose

DO NOT LOVE THE WORLD NOR THE THINGS IN THE WORLD. IF ANYONE LOVES THE WORLD, THE LOVE OF THE FATHER IS NOT IN HIM.

Yesterday I was thinking of our relationship with the world we occupy and with those we meet in it. As Christians, our relationship with the world has always been difficult as we try to fit in but never truly managing to do so. In recent times this has become even more difficult and, maybe more accurately…downright impossible. Christian living in the 21st Century is a high-wire tightrope walk across a raging river.

In present times we have seen many churches choosing to compromise their beliefs and even the Word of God just for a quiet life amongst this godless generation. Of course, the problem with this is they have chosen Satan over Almighty God; in doing so, they are now in a state of enmity with God. These wider societal choices affect us and will come to challenge us personally at some stage of our Christian walk when we will have to choose with whom we will stand.

Dear Reader, prepare yourself for the day when that choice comes before you. There may be a hint of it coming, or it may just appear someday – be ready. Be in close fellowship with the Triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Read/meditate in the Word of God daily, pray regularly, building up your strength for the way ahead on the Narrow Path with your Father God. This is the best preparation, brethren for when the god of this world challenges you.
