A Day In The Life of…

Just to sit next to Jesus, what an experience that would be.

If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be, and why?

Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And He *said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of people.” Immediately they left their nets and followed Him. Matthew 4:18-20 (NASB)

I will get straight to the point and say I would rather be no one but who God created me to be, but I do wish I had done a better job of life and served Him more. Yet in this, God calls us not to a past, but instead to a future with Him.

In my time reading and meditating upon the Bible, particularly the New Testament gospels, I ponder what it must have been like to meet Jesus in person. One of my favorite encounters with Him is when He calls the disciples from their daily fishing duties; there is something special about someone who can have men drop everything instantly to follow Him. I don’t really know which disciple I would like to be for a day, but it certainly wouldn’t be Judas Iscariot, and I don’t feel brave enough to be Peter either. To be any of the other disciples would be awesome; sitting listening to Jesus after dinner, watching Him preach and heal many, to follow Him from town to town, just to sit next to Him, what an experience that would be.

Dear Reader, Jesus says to His disciples in Matthew 28:20 “follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” This is a promise to all who choose to follow Him and His Father God in their life; He fulfills it by the power and presence of Holy Spirit whom He promises to all who follow Him. In this I am always in Jesus’s presence everyday; what about you?

If you want to walk each day with Jesus you need peace with His Father God; you can find out how to attain this peace HERE.
