While many people will read the title of this word and wonder how on earth this could be true, God is building His people out of Gold, Silver, and Precious Stones and those things don’t burn!
“For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is [already] laid, which is Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). But if anyone builds upon the Foundation, whether it be with GOLD, SILVER, PRECIOUS STONES, wood, hay, straw, The work of each [one] will become [plainly, openly] known (shown for what it is); for the day [of Christ] will disclose and declare it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test and critically appraise the character and worth of the work each person has done.” 1 Corinthians 3:11-13
While no one likes feeling like they’ve been thrown into the fires of adversity, hardship, and tribulation, when God is building Supernaturally in your life, He uses Gold (that which is Himself), silver (the Redemption of Jesus Christ operating in your life), and Precious Stones (your personal identity in Him) to build you into a Spiritual house for Himself.
“[Come] and, like living stones, be yourselves built [into] a spiritual house, for a holy (dedicated, consecrated) priesthood, to offer up [those] spiritual sacrifices [that are] acceptable and pleasing to God through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 2:5
While those fires of adversity, hardship, and tribulation will always consume the wood, hay, and straw of your life (the carnal elements of your natural identity), they cannot consume what the Holy Spirit is establishing in your personal walk with Him.
Instead, those same Flames only seem to purify and enhance those qualities making them even more visible to others around you. It’s usually when you are completely surrounded by those flames of adversity that Jesus Christ shows up alongside you in the midst of the fire!
“He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and THE FORM OF THE FOURTH IS LIKE THE SON OF GOD.” Daniel 3:25
While the reference above is what happened to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abendigo, this same dynamic could be said about every believer in Jesus Christ who is thrown into the fires of adversity, hardship, or situations that are incredibly unfavorable to them, because of persecution from others for the sake of their faith.
There have been many times in my personal life where I have had to deal with false accusations, trauma from family members, and attacks from the enemy that were extremely difficult for me to bear up under, but it was in every one of those situations where the Lord Jesus Christ showed up in the middle of my circumstances and made a way out of them!
Those fires of adversity will actually burn the bondages off of your life leaving you free from what other people have placed upon you, the demonic realm has bound you up with, and even those false perceptions that you’ve believed about yourself (stinking thinking).
If you’re in the fires of adversity, hardship, and tribulation today in your personal life, then it’s time to look for the Presence of God in the midst of it! He will NEVER LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU! He’s there in those fires with you, and you are not alone even though it sometimes feels like it.
JESUS IS THERE SOMEWHERE, I GUARANTEE IT!
“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: WHEN THOU WALKEST THROUGH THE FIRE, THOU SHALT NOT BE BURNED; NEITHER SHALL THE FLAME KINDLE UPON THEE.” Isaiah 43:2
