I don’t think there’s anything more alarming to a disciple of Jesus Christ than learning from the Holy Spirit that the biggest obstacle in the Way of His Kingdom manifesting is you!
A Year or so ago, I was on my way to a meeting in California, when all of a sudden I saw an impression of a Bottle of Marintellis Sparkling Cider in the Spirit realm. At first, I dismissed it as a Delusion, but after it kept coming back to me multiple times, I inquired of the Holy Spirit about it.
He proceeded to tell me that it was my prop for tonight’s meeting, and while I don’t usually use props, this particular bottle had an earthshattering message behind it. He told me to ask for it when I got to the meeting location and that the owner of the house had the bottle.
Still thinking that it was Delusion, when I arrived, the owner of the house pulled it out of the kitchen cabinet and handed it to me. I said, “Lord, is it for communion tonight? And He said, “No, it’s the message for the night.”
The next thing he said to me absolutely floored me, for He said, “Too many of my Sons and Daughters are trying to be the wine instead of the bottle, and it has stopped up My ability to use them to their fullest capabilities!”
He went on to say that, “Many, without realizing it, are trying to be the Holy Spirit for everyone else, instead of just being the house that He lives in and flows out of! They’ve tried to take credit for what I do, and make it about themselves, instead of pointing the Glory for what happens back to the original source!”
His Sons and Daughters are the empty Bottles (empty of themselves), that are filled with the New Wine of the Holy Spirits Presence and Power, but they’ve misunderstood their personal role in this union, because they’ve forgotten the fact that, “Apart From Me You Can Do Nothing!”(John 15:5)
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” 1 Corinthians 6:19
When we begin to think (and act) like we are anything other than God’s House in the earth, self will immediately take the throne of our lives back away from the Lord Jesus Christ.
When this happens, it effectively strips our ministries of all the demonstration from the Holy Spirit upon our lives, because instead of building His Kingdom any more, now we’re building our Kingdoms in His Place!
As a result, we begin to operate in the Wisdom of men instead of the Demonstration of Spirit and Power. This eventually turns into a form of godliness instead of the Substance of the Kingdom in operation.
When we become like this, we become an obstacle to His Kingdom instead of a catalyst for it, and it saps all of the Transformational power out of the ministry itself. This is a sure sign that we have reversed our roles in our relationship with Jesus Christ.
Pride is the very thing that brought down Lucifer, and it’ll be the same thing that’ll bring every other person down as well, if we don’t stay in our role as the Bottle that houses the Wine of God’s Presence and Power!
Don’t try to be the Holy Spirit, stay in your role as His house, for if you’ll stay small in your own sight He’ll highlight you as a favorite Bottle to be used by His Hand (2 Timothy 2:20-21) and filled with His Power, but make no mistake, the Power and Ability is still His and not Yours!
