Sudden and Unexpected

The smallest choice to believe the truth, even amidst increasing opposition, will change our tomorrow.

Great surprises are in store for those who have been prepared to believe things not based on truth but in the illusions provided by skillfully crafted deceptions. We need to become aware of what is influencing our thinking because from our thinking will come the choices we make about life.

I heard someone say something that caught my attention. They were addressing a forecast of something dire that is coming to our culture. They said the end result will happen “little by little, then, all at once.” The sudden nature of what was being described will happen like the frog living in the proverbial pot as the heat is gradually increasing and its building influence remains unnoticed by the frog. What first felt like a hot tub experience, in the end, will kill them.

This process has a name. It is called, “The Compound Effect.” What we are being fed today to support a misinformed faith, is disconnecting us from a developing future reality.

Spiritual forces behind the scenes are at work using our misinformed choices to fortify the foundation for our future habits of life and belief. These effects compound their influence on our daily activities. They are leading us to a place where a surprising and unexpected end will happen. The cumulative effects of this compounding effect are enormous by their ability to deceive.

When Israel was taking the land and had to face its enemies, the Lord said, “II will drive them out little-by-little, until you become many and take the land for your own.” (Exodus 23:30). In the little-by-little moments, God taught Israel what to believe when fear was dismantling His promises and how to grow more mature under the influence of His truth.

God offers us the compounding effect of belief on our lives. The smallest choice to believe the truth, even amidst increasing opposition, will change our tomorrow. This requires that we not be afraid of the evil that is compounding each day around us as we see individuals and nations drift deeper into the influencing effects of deception. We can only be at peace in this negative compounding effect when we are being influenced by God’s truth and allow His promises to inform the choices we make because nothing is sudden to God.
