Recently, I had a very powerful prophetic dream that I hope will help to bring you some clarity and prophetic insight for this season. In the dream, I was just kind of walking out onto what I knew was a plateau. There were walls on either side but as I walked further toward the edge of the plateau I could see a small set of stairs that went up one side and wrapped around. I climbed the stairs and found myself on another plateau identical to the first one. Again on the side, there was another set of stairs like the first but instead of spiraling up, they went up and to the side at a diagonal.. I climbed those stairs and reached another plateau but this time there was a set of stairs directly in front of me that went down.
I hesitated in the dream because I never like to slow down or go down, I’m always moving forward. However, I felt complete peace and knew in the dream I was supposed to take the stairs even though they went down. These stairs led to another plateau but this time there were two sets of stairs. The first went to the side and down slightly from what I could see and the second just went straight up. Again, I hesitated in the dream but then the Lord spoke to me and I knew I was meant to take the staircase that went to the side and down instead of the one that went straight up.
When I woke up from the dream, I went right into prayer, seeking the Lord for the interpretation. The Lord spoke to me and said, “You will never actually know what your next step is going to be. But always go in the direction that I’ve called you to go. Not in the direction you think you should go.” As the Lord spoke this to me I knew exactly what the dream meant. I believe in this season, God is looking for those who will take the direction He has called them in instead of going in the direction they think they should.
Many times in our walk with God, just like the different staircases I encountered in the dream, God leads us on an unexpected path toward our destiny. I have never heard of anyone, or read about anyone in scripture, that took a direct path straight from their promise to the fulfillment of that promise. When you live a life full of the Holy Spirit, He’s not going to let you go the wrong way. This is why it is so important for us as believers to be led by the Spirit in every single area of our lives. The door that God wants you to walk through is not always the open door in front of you. We must be led by His Spirit if we are going to reach our destiny and walk in the fullness of what He has for us.
Being led by the Spirit in all that we do can look as simple as paying attention to that little nudge from the Holy Spirit to go to this restaurant instead of the other, or taking this road instead of the one we usually take. God is always setting up divine appointments for us to encounter and encourage those who are on God’s heart. We just have to be willing to listen for His directions. Whenever you are moving forward in life, don’t always look for the obvious. Be one who is always listening to the Holy Spirit and looking for His guidance.
God wants to guide you and He will direct you if you are just willing to tap in and allow Him to do so. Following after God is a wild and fun adventure every day.
So in this season, keep moving forward. Look for those signs that are pointing you toward what God has for you and be willing to take the unusual route if that is where the Spirit is leading you. Make sure you are walking closely with the Lord so that He can give you His specific directions and instructions for your life and purpose.
I hope this word encouraged you today and I know that God is going to use those in this season who are willing to follow Him wherever He may lead. So get ready to level up!
