Several weeks ago I heard the spirit of the Lord say to me, “Mindsets are portals.”
In one sense I kind of knew that however, I don’t think I had ever equated a mindset to a portal. The consideration of that reality brings forth very vivid imagery that makes it incredibly consequential, revelatory, and significant!
In other words, where and what you set your mind on is engaging with and accessing things from the realm where it is set. This should provoke us to take inventory of what mindsets we have in our lives.
The new age has used this truth to develop doctrines that seek to provide life and blessing without the true source of life and blessing. Sure enough, there are certain realms that people are accessing simply based on a mindset that gives the appearance of life and blessing, yet sadly devoid of Christ who is life.
Any mindset that doesn’t first abide in the mind of Christ is what I’d call a forbidden gate. The mindset can access gates that draw/ attract the things of that realm, however, God would call this the mind of man. When Jesus confronted Peter (Matthew 16:23) “Get behind me satan!” the root reason for it according to Jesus was “You have NOT the things of God in mind, but the things of man.” In other words, Jesus was letting Peter know that his mindset was on the sentimentalities and concerns of man, and as a result that mindset was a portal to the voice of Satan.
How many of us are also accessing what belongs to satan: fear, depression, lies, poverty, hopelessness, despair, sickness, rejection, and every other curse of darkness because our mindset has become a gateway for this?! Some think misery is a Christlike virtue! It is not!
So I guess my point in sharing this is to say that God created us to set our minds on things above. That which belongs to Christ, and that dwells with Him in His kingdom!
It is time to be those who are accessing the abundant life of Christ because we have the mind of Christ, and we set it on things pertaining to the realm of the spirit where we are seated with Him!
Your mindset is a portal.
Colossians 3:1. Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
Romans 8:6. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,
Philippians 4:8. …. whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
