Self Care Is Not A Sin – Hair, Bras, and Doctors

Focusing on self-care first gives us the stamina to care for others, and with a better attitude.

What do hair, bras, and doctors have to do with self-care?

These are three things we often leave off when considering taking care of ourselves.

We tell ourselves we need the money or no one to impress, so we don’t need a haircut. It’s been like this for years.

Do you have bras that don’t fit, but you wear them anyway? There are places to get a bra fitting where you can learn if you’re the wrong size. A new bra makes us look and feel better, and our clothes fit better.

Why do we need to go to the doctor? We don’t feel sick. Doctors cost money. I can’t take off work, or I’d have to find someone to care for the kids.

How Do You Treat Your Friends?

The Bible tells us to love others as we love ourselves, but many of us would lose all our friends if we did for others what we do for ourselves.

Has your life gotten so busy that you don’t love your life anymore? Some people run on empty or are continually exhausted with no reserves.

I Didn’t Like Myself

When we serve others and ignore our needs, I think we’ve turned the idea of Christian service into something God intended.

Focusing on self-care first gives us the stamina to care for others, and with a better attitude.

Put YOU on the Schedule!
  1. Make an appointment to get your hair cut into a style that is easy to care for and looks cute.
  2. Get a bra fitting at a major department store and learn your correct size. Then buy at least one new bra there or in another store in your correct size and see how you look much better you look and feel.
  3. Make a doctor’s appointment and get a regular check-up. Many diseases are easy to check for, and some preventive medicine can help you live healthier and happier. And you’ll be able to serve more people longer!

Love your neighbor as yourself. ~Matthew 22:39
