Just recently, I was spending some time in prayer early one morning. The Lord spoke to me and said, “Remark.” I just stayed silent before the Lord, waiting to hear more from Him. The Lord spoke to me a second time and said, “I want to re-mark people because I am going to do remarkable things through them.”
As believers, we all have encounters with God that we can look back on and see how we were marked by the Lord in a powerful way. I really believe that this is a season and a time when God wants to re-mark us in His presence. God is looking for those who will lean into Him and what He is doing. The Lord wants to re-mark you so that you can do remarkable things with Him!
God has a powerful purpose for every single one of us but before we can ever do remarkable things for the kingdom of God we must be marked by God Himself. In this season God wants to re-mark you. So let your heart and spirit come to Him with an expectation to have those fresh encounters with the Lord. Every time I spend time with God I receive a fresh revelation and a fresh word from Him. I don’t go into my time with God looking for those things, I go into the place of prayer just to be with Him. However, God is always speaking and now more than ever He is looking for those He can use in a remarkable way.
God marks us so that we can mark others. Everyone leaves their mark on the people they are around whether it is good or bad. But I believe God is looking for those who have been so marked by His presence and power that they will leave a mark on the people around them for the Kingdom of God. In Acts 4:13, people recognized that the disciples of Jesus had been with Him because of how they had been marked by their walk with Him. It says, “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.”
When we think of being marked by God we often think of beautiful, sweeping moments in His presence that make us feel great. And I have been marked in many moments like those. However, God also marks us in moments of pruning. We often need to go before the Lord and ask Him to take anything out of us and cut anything off that He needs to that is not from Him. Many times we can be held back by those areas where we have not allowed the Lord to prune us.
I don’t want to be kept from moving forward into all that God has for me so I welcome the pruning of the Lord into my life. I’ve seen many people in their walk with God allow themselves to be stunted by an old way of thinking or way of doing things.
I believe God is shifting the church and Kingdom-minded believers into a place where we must think, act, and move forward differently. The truth is God is always moving and shifting us into what He has for us next. This is a season where if we allow God to re-mark us in a powerful way our impact will be unbelievable.
Ephesians 3:18-19 says, “Then you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences— the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is his love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding; this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God!”
As we encounter more and more of God in His presence then we are filled to overflowing with who He is. The world needs a face-to-face confrontation with the presence of God and you are called to be someone who can carry it to them. In this season, allow the Lord to re-mark you so that you can do remarkable things for the Kingdom of God!
