Recently, over the last week or so, I’ve had a series of significant encounters with the Lord. I believe that what the Lord has shown me and spoken to me about is a prophetic message for many concerning the month of October. I believe this word will encourage you and give you prophetic insight and strategy for this season so you can do all that God has called you to do without hindrance or delay.
Just a few days ago, the Lord woke me up four different times in the middle of the night. The first time I woke up, I could sense that I needed to pray for America. So I got up and prayed over our great nation until I felt a release from the Lord and then I went back to bed and fell asleep. The second time I woke up, I felt to pray over a specific situation that I’ve been seeking the Lord about. I got up and prayed over that situation until I felt a breakthrough and then I went back to sleep. The third time I woke up, I felt to pray over the nations and different things going on in the world. I got up and prayed until I felt that same sense of release and then went back to sleep. Then finally, the fourth time I woke up, I got up to pray and the Lord gave me a vision. It was very simple. In the vision, I was alone in the sanctuary of our church. I was sitting on the edge of the stage. I often sit in that spot throughout the week, spending time in prayer and seeking the Lord. But in the vision, as I prayed, I heard the Lord say, “My house is a house of prayer.” He repeated this phrase more than several times and then the vision ended. After this, the Lord spoke to me again and said, “You have contended and prayed and I know what you have asked for in prayer. I am about to bring breakthrough in your life and in areas where you have been attacked.” Even as I heard this, I felt this breaking in my spirit and I just felt the presence of God in such a powerful way.
I believe that the Lord is calling His people into a greater level of devotion and commitment to Himself and especially to the place of prayer in the month of October. I’ve had several visions concerning prayer over the past week that emphasize this call from the Lord to be found faithful in the place of prayer now more than ever. The Lord speaks to me so often and I share so much of what He shows me prophetically. Because of this, many people ask me how they can hear from the Lord more and more clearly. I believe that God speaks to me the way that He does because I spend so much time in prayer with Him. Our relationship with God is just like any other relationship we have in that the more time we spend with Him the more we grow closer to Him. The Bible says that God whispers His secrets to His friends. I truly believe that He is looking for those who will be found seeking His face above all else in this season. The Lord desires to reveal Himself to us, all we have to do is seek Him.
As you make a fresh commitment to the place of prayer, God will bring breakthrough where you have been hindered and delayed. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” As we seek the Kingdom of God in our prayers and in our lives then everything we are believing for will fall into place. October is a month to dedicate ourselves to prayer, sacrifice, consecration, and greater devotion to the Lord. Heaviness and warfare that have weighed heavily upon you for some time will break as you spend time in the place of prayer this month. Now is the time to pray over all those prophetic words that have yet to come to pass. Now is the time to contend for those things that God has called you to build. Be specific in your prayers, be laser-focused in your prayers and most of all pray for His Kingdom to come and for His will to be done and see what amazing things God will do! Make your life a house of prayer and watch as God shifts and changes so much in and through your life in this season!
